Choosing a Robe
Your bathrobe should reflect your personal style and use. If you want something lightweight and easy to carry start with the kimonos or spa robes. For maximum warmth, terry shawl is what you are looking for. Maybe the classic look is what you like which makes our terry robes the perfect fit. Every little bit counts so take the time to find out what counts for you.
Comfort and convenience are combined to make your bathrobe yours. Robes have always been are part of most homes in some way or another even just as a towel. As the types of uses have continued to grow from lounging around the house, to coming out of the shower; robes have also grown in material and style. When it comes to robe styles the key is in the collar. There are three collar types to choose from:
Shawl - classic rolled collar; elegant casual and timeless.
Kimono - sleek lines, light weight and relative low cost. The kimono robe has a streamlined collar, with less material at the neck and no rolled material.
Hooded - warm and cozy feeling; pull the hood up after washing your hair and you’ll protect your neck and head from getting chilled. (coming soon with our youth selection)
Absorbency
Natural cotton is the most absorbent fabric available. Cotton can be woven into many alternative fabrics: thin, thick, looped terry, textured waffle, etc; the longer the loop and heavier the weight, the more absorbent the fabric.
One way to measure a robe’s thickness is to look at the fabric’s weight, per square yard. For example, terry is one of the heaviest robe fabrics; ranging from 10 to 30 ounces, however as a general practice most robes weigh between 12 to 18 oz. per square yard. Almost all our robes are 14 ounces, except our travel and lightweight selections.
Robe Sizing & Fit
To simplify the ordering process, we have created many robe styles where “one size fits most.” This allows us to provide a wider variety of robes with considerable cost savings to our customers. Not all our products are like this and our chenille and plush chenille come in XXL for your selection, however this may extend the delivery time by up to 10 days.

Robe Shopping Guide
Terry
Terry cloth has ruled the bathrobe world forever and is the most commonly know cloth. When it comes to absorbency, you can’t beat classic cotton terry. The fabric is formed by two sets of warp yarns, interspersed to form airy loops; and the longer the loop, the more absorbent the cloth. If you like to hop out of the shower and right into your bathrobe, terry is for you. Terry is a great choice for those who prefer natural fabrics as our terry robes are made from high-quality, 100% cotton that feels soft and supple against your skin.
We recommend terry cloth for winter and crisp waffle for summer. The only shortcoming to pure cotton terry bathrobes is they are prone to shrinkage, so be extra careful when washing. All our robes come with the “one size fits most” selection, which accounts for cotton also. However, if you feel that an x-large robe fits your needs better, please contact us.
Velour
Pampering, sensuous, luxurious, romantic and sleek all help to describe the wonderful characteristics of velour. The flexible knit backing moves easily with your body, while its plush surface brings back the rich and elegant look of crushed velvet. Made primarily of cotton and polyester, but sometimes woven with wool and blends, velour is surprisingly warm, cozy and absorbent along with versatile. Visit our deluxe collection to see our velour robe choices.
Waffle
Waffle bathrobes are the perfect marriage of comfort, performance, and value. They are lightweight, highly-absorbent...and very affordably priced! The textured waffle fabric, is represented by its distinct squared or diamond checker pattern (hence the term “waffle”). Both pleasing to the eye and the touch and generally made of natural cotton or cotton/poly blends waffle make a great summer or “getting dressed” robe.
Chenille
Chenille is a thick, airy pile yarn with serious insulating properties, whether made from cotton, wool, silk, rayon or micro-chenille. You can get that warm and cozy feeling all year long with a touch of class not seen in any other type of robe. Although chenille is warm and luxurious by far it is not known for its absorbency. Therefore we recommend this type of robe for lounging around the fireplace, house, on weekends or as a cover up versus directly out of the shower.
Chenille robes have become more and more popular in the past few years especially micro-chenille which is what makes ours one of the most popular robes. Micro-chenille robes are made with 100% polyester and therefore are excellent for insulation and durability. Chenille robes have been popularized by Oprah's Favorite Things endorsements during the past few years. However, beware of the quality of the chenille. In the market, there are first-rate micro-chenille robes and there are ones of very low quality. Our high-end chenille robes are very soft, lightweight, and sure to please. There is nothing like a good chenille robe and once you get your hands and body on one of ours we guarantee you will be satisfied.
Microfiber
Soft and sophisticated, microfiber robes are becoming increasingly popular with those in search of a casually elegant look. Surprisingly lightweight yet wrinkle-resistant, our microfiber robes travel well, even when in a packed suitcase. Microfiber feels great, wears well, and is inherently water resistant. We line our microfiber robes with cotton, so they feel extra soft and nice while wearing.
Microfiber is developed using a new technological manufacturing process which produces fibers that are 1/16 of the human hair size. Therefore microfibers are finer than silk, and more lightweight and breathable than other natural and synthetic fibers. Microfiber can be woven and brushed into a suede finished fabric for a luxurious, soft feel similar to that of satin and silk or it can be placed into a "splitting" process to create a fantastic water absorbency to enhance its soft and lightweight characteristics. A microfiber robe can be excellent for lounging around and is ideal for use throughout the year. Microfiber robes are relatively new to the market and are increasing in popularity at retail shops, upscale spas and resorts.
Our Plush Chenille
The proprietary fiber used for our plush chenille is called Soybu™. As the name suggests it is made from a blend of soy and bamboo. Together, they form the world’s newest fiber, fitting perfectly into a consumer mindset that welcomes earth-friendly renewable resources in all facets of life. Soy fibers are manufactured from the byproduct of soy processed for the food market and is completely organic.
Natural bamboo is one of the world’s most prolific and fastest growing plants and is 100% biodegradable and naturally regenerative. A spinning process makes bamboo fiber softer than the softest cotton with a natural sheen to the surface, which feels similar to silk or cashmere.
Combining the silkiness inherent in soy, with the durability of bamboo results in garments that are easy to wear and care for and environmentally friendly. By marrying soy and bamboo into Soybu, we’ve created a fiber that feels like cashmere, is cool on the skin, and has the added benefits of being naturally antimicrobial and environmentally friendly.
Some characteristics of soybean and bamboo protein fiber:
▪ Cashmere feel but smoother almost like a second skin.
▪ Excellent moisture absorption and air transport with natural resistance to bacteria.
▪ The soybean fibers contain 16 amino acids that are nourishing and have health benefits to human’s skin. When these amino acids come in contact with skin they can activate skin protein that renews and releases the brilliance of skin. No other fiber possesses this property. Soybean protein fiber is the only botanic protein fiber in the world.
▪ Excellent drape, comfort, easy care and fast drying.
▪ Great colorfastness - both sunlight and perspiration resistant.
▪ Moisture transport properties help move airborne toxins and dirt away from skin.
▪ Soybean and bamboo protein fibers blended with polyester raise the properties of comfort, beauty, anti-crease and wrinkle resistance attributes.
▪ Bamboo’s natural anti-bacterial function replaces the need to add chemical antimicrobial that can cause skin irritation and allergy when added to apparel. 100% biodegradable.
▪ Provides protection from ultra-violet radiation. The bamboo fiber absorbs most ultra-violet rays and protects the skin from these damaging effects. Feels cool to the touch, keeping your body heat regulated.
